Chief Justice Raut emphasizes importance of preserving history

Kathmandu, February 19 — Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut stressed the importance of preserving historical heritage to secure the present and future.

Speaking at the launch event of Nepal Law Magazine (Old Issue), he highlighted that historical heritage forms the foundation of today's society and helps pave the way for a clear future.  

Justice Raut emphasized that to build a prosperous future, everyone must protect their history.

"Historical heritage is the pillar of today’s present, and from it, we can make tomorrow’s path clear and certain," he said.  

Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal also noted the weakening of institutions upholding law and legal supremacy in Nepal, calling for stronger political commitment to bolster institutions like the judiciary.

He warned that the absence of a strong legal framework could be exploited by bad actors, stressing that learning from history is crucial to building a strong foundation for the country.
