Empowering youth key to national prosperity: PM Oli

Kathmandu, February 19 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized that the government’s policy is to empower youth and lead the country towards prosperity.
Speaking at the Democracy Day event at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel on Wednesday, he stated that true democracy lies in the prosperity of the nation and the well-being of its people.
He mentioned that complete democracy ensures equal access to "rights, opportunities, equality, social justice, security, and respect" for all. The Prime Minister further highlighted that the government is progressing harmoniously amidst rising public expectations and challenges, aligning the institutional and structural strength of the state.
Acknowledging that the youth are the future of the country, Oli reiterated the government’s commitment to providing them with opportunities in education, health, employment, and entrepreneurship through startups. He pledged to continue making democracy more transparent and accountable, while addressing inequality, poverty, and corruption in society.
Oli also noted that democracy is the foundation for enhancing economic indicators for sustainable management. He added that Falgun 7, which marks Democracy Day, is a day to remember the countless struggles of the past, where the people fought for the establishment of democratic rights. Reflecting on the history of the struggle for democracy, he expressed the resolve to fulfill the nation’s aspiration for prosperity and the well-being of the people.
The Prime Minister called for unity in the pursuit of effective governance, sustainable development, and ensuring the happiness of the people, aiming to fulfill the national aspirations of good governance and stability.
