Contempt of court case against PM Oli scheduled for hearing today

Kathmandu, February 16 — A hearing has been scheduled today for the contempt of court case filed against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for allegedly defying a Supreme Court ruling regarding the Giribandhu Tea Estate.

Advocate Om Prakash Aryal filed the contempt petition on Monday, accusing the Oli-led government of obstructing the Supreme Court's directive by introducing a land-related ordinance and failing to implement the court's decision.

Aryal has also requested the removal of the Prime Minister from office in his petition.

Aryal has named Prime Minister Oli and Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Poudel, as the defendants in the case.
