Foreign Minister Rana departs for Oman

Kathmandu, February 14 — Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba departed for Oman on Friday.

She is leading a four-member Nepali delegation to participate in the "8th Indian Ocean Conference" in Muscat, Oman, which will be held from today until February 20.

Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other foreign ministry officials bid her farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport.

She is visiting Oman at the invitation of Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.

The conference, which focuses on "New Horizons of Maritime Partnership," will see Minister Dr. Rana representing Nepal. 

During her visit, Dr. Rana is also scheduled to address a session on strengthening the voice of the Global South in the conference.

Additionally, Minister Dr. Rana will hold bilateral meetings with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and other representatives from relevant ministries.
