Kathmandu, February 12 — Preparations for Maha Shivaratri have begun in the Pashupatinath area. As part of the preparations, cleaning and painting work at various temples and shrines in the Pashupatinath area is underway.
This year, preparations are being made considering the influx of many sadhus and saints from the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India.
Ishwar Bhandari, the chief of the Fund and Cultural Preservation Branch, mentioned that the number of sadhus and saints visiting Pashupatinath during Maha Shivaratri has been increasing every year, and it is expected to rise this year due to the Maha Kumbh.
Maha Shivaratri will be observed on the 14th of Falgun (February 27th) this year.
