Shankar Pokharel upset over leak of his conversation with Barshaman Pun

Kathmandu, February 9 — General Secretary Shankar Pokharel of the CPN (UML) expressed his dissatisfaction after an informal conversation with CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun was leaked to the media.
Pokharel's frustration stemmed from the news that he had requested the Maoist Centre's support for the government's ordinance, which was made public on Saturday.
Pokharel took to Facebook on Sunday, stating that since Pun publicized the conversation as a request from the UML General Secretary, it now requires careful consideration before having any further informal discussions with him.
Pokharel emphasized that such informal talks, held out of courtesy among leaders, should not be made public for mass consumption.
He wrote, "Leaders sometimes have informal discussions with individuals and parties they deem necessary for certain matters. However, such informal talks should not be publicized for public consumption. It's inappropriate to make such conversations public."
Pokharel also clarified that while Pun's intentions were clear, this action would ultimately harm both him and his party, the Maoist Centre.
