Speaker Ghimire initiates discussion on ordinances

Kathmandu, February 5 — Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has initiated discussions regarding the ordinance presented by the government in Parliament and other related matters.

Speaker Ghimire began the discussions at his office in Singhadurbar with the Chief Whips and Whips of the major political parties.

On January 31, during the winter session of Parliament, the government presented six different ordinances.

These ordinances have been strongly opposed by the opposition parties, who accuse the government of bringing them in an inappropriate manner without Parliament's involvement.

In the discussions with the Speaker, the Chief Whips present include Shyam Ghimire from the Nepali Congress, Mahesh Bartaula from the CPN (UML), Hitaraj Pandey from the CPN (Maoist Center), and Santosh Pariyar from the Rashtriya Swatantra Party.
