Nepal ambassador requests Israel’s help in securing release of Bipin Joshi
Kathmandu, February 5 — Nepal's Ambassador to Israel, Dhan Prasad Pandit, has urged Israeli President Isaac Herzog to take action for the release of Nepali student Bipin Joshi.
Ambassador Pandit made the request during a phone call to President Herzog on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the conversation, Pandit emphasized Israel's ongoing efforts to ensure the safe release and return of all hostages, including Joshi, who was taken captive during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
Despite ongoing prisoner exchanges between Hamas and Israel during the ceasefire, Joshi's whereabouts remain unknown.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba have also personally taken initiatives to secure Joshi’s release.
