Prachanda calls current govt unconstitutional and anti-democratic
Kathmandu, February 4 — Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), has criticized the current government, calling it unconstitutional and anti-democratic.
Addressing a protest rally in Beni, Myagdi on Tuesday, Prachanda said, "According to Article 76(2) of the Constitution, if a government formed under this provision seeks a vote of confidence and loses, then a government should be formed under Article 76(3) with the leadership of the largest party. However, after losing the vote, the government was formed under the leadership of the second-largest party, which proves this government is unconstitutional."
Prachanda further described the current government as undemocratic and unnatural, asserting that it promotes autocracy and corruption.
He pointed out that such a government does not align with democratic principles and is formed at the behest of corrupt middlemen and commission agents.
He also criticized the current Prime Minister, accusing him of deceit, trickery, and manipulation, stating, "The person holding the office of Prime Minister has engaged in so much deceit. How can a country prosper with such a person in power?"
Prachanda claimed that the decisions made by the government were driven by the interests of brokers and middlemen, and the coalition between the Congress and the UML was not formed in the best interests of the people.
He argued that this coalition is not truly democratic and does not reflect the will of the people.
