Maoist Center to launch 'Maoist with People' campaign

Kathmandu, February 3 — The main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Center), has announced that it will launch a "Maoist with People" campaign from February 24 to engage with the people.

The party’s office-bearers meeting held at the residence of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' in Khumaltar on Monday decided to begin the campaign from Kachankawal in Jhapa.

According to spokesperson Agniprasad Sapkota, the campaign will be based along the Postal Highway.

Additionally, the party decided to hold a meeting of the heads and deputy heads of local levels in Kathmandu on February 21.

Sapkota mentioned after the meeting that the party will carry out the campaign along the Postal Highway and will also hold a meeting of the heads and deputy heads of 123 local levels elected by the party in Kathmandu."

A meeting of the Maoist central committee held on January 7 had previously decided to launch a campaign focused on the Mid-Hill highway.

Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has reshuffled the responsibilities of its leaders. 

In Koshi Province, the position of Deputy General Secretary Hari Bol Gajurel as province in-charge remains unchanged.

In Madhes Province, the responsibility has been given to Deputy Secretary Matrika Yadav. In Bagmati Province, Secretary Hitman Shakya has been appointed as the in-charge.

Similarly, in Gandaki Province, Secretary Dinanath Sharma has been retained in the same role.

In Lumbini Province, Secretary Chakrapani Khanal, in Karnali Province, Standing Committee Member Kali Bahadur Malla, and in Sudurpashchim Province, Deputy General Secretary Giriraj Mani Pokharel have all been retained as in-charges.

Secretary Lilamani Pokharel has been given the responsibility of Contact Coordination  in-charge. Previously, Pokharel was in charge of Madhes Province.

Additionally, for the Kathmandu Valley, Standing Committee Member Jayapuri Gharti, for the SAARC region, Laxman Panta, for Europe and America, Ram Karki, and for Asia, Om Sharma have been assigned responsibilities.

The Maoist Center also mentioned that officials above the General Secretary will not take on geographical responsibilities.
