17th session of NA begins

Kathmandu, January 31 — National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has expressed the belief that all the National Assembly members would play significant role to take the NA to a new height. 
Welcoming all NA members to the 17th session of the National Assembly, commenced from today, Chair Dahal urged the NA members to make themselves active to carry out activities of NA and its committees in a systematic and disciplined manner as before. 
He shared that out of 65 bills registered in the NA so far, 34 bills were already authenticated, 12 bills withdrawn by government and five became inactive.
Similarly, out of 14 bills that are under consideration at the NA, seven were sent to the House of Representatives with message, he added. 
Earlier, at the beginning of the meeting, tribute was paid to all the known and unknown martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation, by observing one minute's silence. 
Reports of various committees as well as various ordinances would be tabled in today's meeting, it is said.
