Windstorm damages homes in Namche Bazaar

Kathmandu, January 30 — A strong gust of wind has damaged several homes in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-5, Namche Bazaar, in Solukhumbu.
On Thursday, the winds tore off the roofs of six local houses.
The affected individuals include Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, Kaji Sherpa, Nuru Sherpa, Dorje Sherpa, Angnuru Sherpa, and Sonam Dawa Sherpa.
According to the police, Nuru Sherpa, Dorje Sherpa, and Angnuru Sherpa’s solar panels, each rated at 500 watts, were damaged in the storm.
Additionally, Sonam Dawa Sherpa’s 200-watt solar panel and the tin roofs of Kaji and Pasang Lhamu Sherpa’s houses also suffered damage, the authorities informed.
