Maoist Center to raise concerns in Parliament over ordinances
Kathmandu, January 30 — The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has decided to raise concerns in Parliament regarding the ordinances introduced by the government, claiming that the government bypassed Parliament to bring them forward.
The decision was made during the 15th meeting of the Maoist Parliamentary Party held on Thursday, as informed by the party's chief whip, Hitaraj Pandey.
“The process of bringing ordinances has not been in line with strengthening democracy; it is fundamentally flawed,” Pandey stated.
“The government plans to amend 31 laws through 6 ordinances. Introducing ordinances without even withdrawing the bills from the committee is wrong, and therefore, a decision has been made to register a notice of rejection," he added.
Pandey also mentioned that the meeting decided to raise public issues, as the government has shown no concern for matters affecting the people.
During the meeting, Party Chairman Prachanda directed the MPs to present themselves in Parliament according to the party’s decision.
