Maoist Center spokesperson Sapkota claims government's weakness evident
Kathmandu, January 30 — CPN (Maoist Center) spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota has stated that the government is being shaken by the people’s pressure.
Speaking at the provincial gathering of the Press Center Nepal on Thursday, he mentioned that from tomorrow, even opposition parties would be part of this pressure.
Sapkota argued that despite the government having a two-thirds majority, it is very weak. He claimed that since the formation of the KP Oli-led coalition government, it has been unsuccessful.
"The government is so intimidated that it is surrounded by the people. Starting tomorrow, it will also face pressure from the opposition parties. The ruling party is holding meetings every day, and when there is opposition to a bill, they claim that protests are necessary. This clearly indicates that the government is weak," Sapkota said.
He further emphasized that the government is failing in all sectors including governance, social justice, and service delivery since day one.
He accused the Oli government of avoiding parliamentary discussions and referred to the ordinance brought by the government as having malicious intent.
“The most dangerous part is the land bill, which aims to distribute land to their supporters. The issue of fast-tracking is being raised, but I say – the bill should be discussed in a committee. There should be no minority or majority in that committee. A fair discussion is necessary,” Sapkota added.
