Maoist Center calls parliamentary party meeting
Kathmandu, January 28 — The main opposition party, Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), has called a meeting of its parliamentary party.
The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Parliamentary Party office in Singhadurbar, as informed by Chief Whip Hitaraj Pandey.
Pandey stated that the meeting is being convened in preparation for the winter session of Parliament, scheduled to begin on January 31. The meeting will discuss the party’s role in the upcoming session, preparations for the proceedings, lawmaking, and other related issues.
Maoist Center has concluded that the KP Oli government has been unsuccessful over the past six months. The party has accused the government of deviating from good governance, social justice, and prosperity, and attempting to rule through ordinances in an autocratic manner, bypassing Parliament.
Maoist Center chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who is also the leader of the opposition, has called for a meeting of the seven opposition parties to strategize on pressuring the government. The opposition parties have developed a five-point common stance and plan to present a strong opposition to the government.
