Province Assembly of Karnali Province passes its regulations

Surkhet – A meeting of the Provincial Assembly of the Karnali Province has unanimously passed the Province Assembly Regulations, 2074. 

Taking part in the deliberations on the regulations in the Province Assembly meeting on Tuesday, some of the province MPs suggested revising the regulations. 

The MPs calling for a revision to the regulation include Gulab Jung Shah, Bindaman Bishta, Padma Khadka and Devi Oli. 
Similarly, taking part in the discussions on the Financial Procedures Bill, Dharma Raj Regmi, Dinabandhu Shrestha, Kurmaraj Shahi, Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Devi Oli, among the MPs stressed that the Act should be such that it effectively curbed corruption and reduced the financial arrears to zero level. 

Responding to questions raised by MPs during the discussions, Province Minister for Economic Affairs and Law, Prakash Jwala said the Economic Act and Regulations would promote financial transparency and discipline to suit the socialism-oriented economic system. 

He shared that a Province Financial Comptroller's Office and the Province Consolidated Fund would be set up. The Minister also said that a separate Act would be enacted for setting up a contingency fund. 
The Province Assembly is scheduled to meet at 1 pm today.
