Two Indian nationals arrested with hashish and opium in Makawanpur

Makawanpur, January 12 — Two Indian nationals have been arrested in Makawanpur with drugs, including 21.46 kilograms of hashish and 3.47 kilograms of opium.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 25-year-old Kunal Gothwal from Govinda Nagar, Hisar District, Haryana, and 20-year-old Manish Kumar, also from the same location.

According to the Chief of Makawanpur District Police Office (Superintendent of Police) Bishwaraj Khadka, a police team deployed from the Palung Area Police Office arrested the individuals at 2:00 AM on Saturday from the Tribhuvan Highway in Ward No. 11, Thaha Municipality.

Based on information that drugs were being trafficked from Tistung to Hetauda towards India, the police team conducted vehicle checks and stopped an Indian car with the number DL 8CX 1224. Upon inspection, they found the drugs hidden inside the vehicle, as confirmed by Police Superintendent Khadka.

In another incident, police have arrested one individual with 101 kilograms of cannabis. The arrest was made at the Ratomate checkpoint in Hetauda-15 along the East-West Highway.

At 5:30 AM on Sunday, a vehicle traveling from Chitwan to Birganj was stopped for a security check.

Police found 101 kilograms of cannabis hidden in the Indian car with the number DL 13C 1561.

The individual arrested has been identified as 20-year-old Rajan Raut Kurmi from Birganj, Parsa District.

The police are conducting further investigations.
