Three killed in separate traffic accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu, January 9 — At least three people have died in separate accidents in Sindhuli, Mahottari, and Morang, according to the Nepal Police.

In Sindhuli, a fatal accident occurred on Wednesday night when an auto (numbered Ja.1.Ha 4131) lost control and crashed on the road in Upper Sisneri, Kamalamai Municipality-8.

The driver, 34-year-old Hari Majhi from Kamalamai Municipality-9, died from severe injuries while undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Sindhuli.

In Mahottari, a tragic incident took place in an sugarcane field in Gaushala Municipality-2 when a tractor (numbered Na.4 Ta 7909) ran over 4-year-old Shivam Mahato, the son of Kanchan Kumari Mahato, from Gaushala Municipality-4.

The child succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the Government Hospital, Gaushala. The tractor driver is currently on the run, and police are searching for him.

In Morang, a 50-year-old woman, Maya Devi Rajbanshi, from Belbari Municipality-10, died in a crash involving a vehicle (numbered 104/2081/82) in Chandani Chowk on Wednesday evening.

The vehicle lost control while heading toward Budhbare. Maya Devi Rajbanshi died of severe injuries at the Birat Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar, where she was receiving treatment.

The driver of the vehicle is also being treated for injuries at the same hospital.

Police are conducting investigations into the accidents.
