One-way traffic restored on Daunne section of East-West Highway
Nawalparasi, January 8 — After complete blockage, the Daunne section of the East-West Highway, connecting Butwal and Narayangadh, has now been reopened for one-way traffic.
The road had been obstructed due to thick fog and a cold wave, which made the road slippery in Khursanikhola, situated in Bardaghat Municipality-4, West Nawalparasi.
Following continuous efforts, one-way traffic was restored from 2 PM today, as confirmed by Resham Bohara, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer at the District Police Office.
Vehicles are being alternately allowed through based on a traffic pass system.
Bohara mentioned that the situation at Daunne, where construction is ongoing, made restoring two-way traffic more challenging.
Since Tuesday, thick fog and the cold wave in the area have made travel difficult, which led to the road being fully blocked earlier today.
Efforts to reopen the two-way traffic continue, with local authorities, security personnel, and the police working together to clear and maintain the road.
