NRB to auction NPR 80 billion in deposit instruments
Kathmandu, January 8 — Nepal Rastra Bank is set to auction deposit instruments worth NPR 80 billion today (Wednesday) to manage the excess liquidity in the market.
The auction will be for instruments with a maturity period of 14 days, which will mature on January 23.
Banks and financial institutions have been instructed to bid with a minimum of NPR 100 million and a maximum of NPR 80 billion.
Currently, Nepal Rastra Bank's data indicates that the market has nearly NPR 7 trillion in liquidity, and the interbank interest rate stands at 3%.
