Quake effect: One injured in Kathmandu, 11 children faint in Bara

Kathmandu, January 7 — While no human casualties have been reported in Nepal due to the earthquake that struck China on Tuesday morning, some physical structures have been damaged.

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7, occurred at 6:50 AM, with the epicenter in Dingri County, Tibet, China.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the police post building in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality 4, Sindhupalchok, was cracked due to the quake.

Additionally, a shed in Ramechhap was damaged. In Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu, some uninhabited houses were also affected.

In Kathmandu, a person was injured after jumping from the roof of a house in Syuchatar and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Additionally, 11 students from Grades 7 and 8 at Trichandra Secondary School in Ward No. 1 of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, Bara, fainted.

After receiving treatment, their health condition has stabilized, and they have been discharged.
