NC decides to complete old membership renewal by mid-April

Kathmandu, January 3 — The Nepali Congress has decided to complete the renewal of its old active membership by the end of Chaitra (mid-April).

A meeting of the Membership Committee, led by General Secretary Gagan Thapa, held on Friday, set a timeline and decided to finalize the renewal process by the end of Chaitra.

The meeting also decided to make the active membership legally and scientifically valid. The distribution of new active memberships will be based on the recommendations of experts, taking into account factors such as caste, ethnic population, and the party's vote share.

The committee also decided to encourage Dalits, indigenous people, women, and Muslims to take active membership, as shared by committee member Prakash Snehi Rasaili.
