National Mushroom Day celebrated (photos)

Kathmandu, December 30 — National Mushroom Day is being celebrated on Monday under the theme "Awareness of Mushroom Farmers, Self-Reliance in Commercial Production."

This annual event, observed every year on the 15th of Poush, highlights the growth and importance of mushroom farming in Nepal.

According to the Mushroom Farmers Association, mushroom cultivation has expanded across 70 districts in Nepal, with commercial production being carried out by farmers in 40 districts.

The event at Bhirkutimandap showcased a variety of mushroom-based dishes, including mushroom tea, mushroom momos, mushroom chhoila, and dried mushrooms.

In addition, mushrooms ranging from 100 rupees to 30,000 kilos were displayed and available for sale.
