NEPSE drops 21 points

Kathmandu, December 29 – On the first trading day of the week, Sunday, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) dropped by 21 points.

The index started at 2,632 points, climbed to a high of 2,642 points, but eventually closed at 2,609.58 points.

A total of 316 companies saw 11.09 million shares traded, amounting to a turnover of NPR 5.47 billion.

On the positive side, 69 companies saw their stock prices rise, with Mahuli Microfinance and Atmanirbhar Laghubitta hitting the positive circuit limit.

Other stocks saw modest gains. However, 172 companies experienced price drops, with Support Microfinance, Narayani Development Bank, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Janaki Finance, and Sindhu Development Bank facing negative circuit limits.

Among the subgroups, the Finance sector saw the largest decline, dropping by 4.47%, followed by the Development Bank subgroup, which decreased by 2.65%.

The Microfinance subgroup, however, posted a 1.12% gain.
