Hearing on UML’s land donation dispute scheduled in joint bench
Kathmandu, November 19 — The hearing on the dispute regarding the land donated by businessman Min Bahadur Gurung for the construction of the CPN-UML party office has been scheduled in the joint bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Abdul Aziz Musalman.
Previously, the case was listed for hearing on Sunday in the full bench of Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut, but it was postponed due to time constraints. The hearing was rescheduled for Tuesday in a new bench.
Advocate Gyan Bahadur Basnet, who filed the writ petition, has stated that the chances of a hearing today are low as 17 other cases are listed before it.
In the initial hearing, the Supreme Court had issued a short-term interim order on October 29, halting the immediate transfer of the land from Bhatbhateni Department Store owner Gurung. The order was issued by Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel's bench.
Advocate Basnet had filed the writ on October 24, seeking to annul Gurung's decision to donate the land to UML through an interim order.
