RSP announces second phase of protest
Kathmandu, November 17 — The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced the second phase of its protest movement, set to commence on November 23. Speaking at a press conference held at the party headquarters on Sunday, RSP spokesperson Manish Jha outlined the party’s agenda and declared the launch of the next phase of demonstrations.
Jha expressed dissatisfaction with Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, stating that despite efforts to meet and convey their demands, the Prime Minister did not allocate time for discussions.
The RSP's protest centers around several key demands, including ending political retaliation, amending criminal laws, returning the savings of victims of cooperative scams while establishing an autonomous Cooperative Authority, and forming an independent judicial commission to investigate corruption scandals.
Additionally, the party seeks structural economic reforms through amendments to a dozen economic laws to create a more dynamic economy. Other demands include ensuring voting rights for expatriate and non-resident Nepalis and organizing an all-party conference to deliberate constitutional amendments.
