Kathmandu sees surge in returnees after major festivals (photos)
Kathmandu, November 9 — With the conclusion of major festivals like Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath, people who had left the Kathmandu Valley have started returning. In recent days, crowds can be seen at the entry points of Kathmandu, such as Kalanki, Thankot, and Bhaktapur.
According to Nepal Traffic Police, nearly 90 percent of those who had left the Kathmandu Valley for the festivals had returned by yesterday.
This year, fewer people left the capital compared to previous years due to road blockages caused by floods and landslides.
