Ministry of Federal Affairs reports NPR 20.37 lakh expenditure on drinking water!

Kathmandu, October 23 — The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has reported an expenditure of NPR 20,37,328 for drinking water over the course of one year. This amount was spent during the fiscal year 2023/24.

The ministry has been procuring drinking water from various firms and companies, but it has not provided details about the water suppliers.

Despite having a water processing plant within Singha Durbar, ministries and various agencies continue to purchase water from external firms.

Using the right to information, Ratopati requested details from the Ministry of Federal Affairs, which revealed that NPR 63,41,157 was spent on vehicle maintenance over the same one-year period. This expenditure covers repairs for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, and the ministry confirmed that the payments have already been made.

However, the ministry declined to disclose which firms or companies were responsible for the repairs of specific vehicles.

Additionally, the ministry has spent NPR 3,65,110 on the purchase of newspapers over the past year.
