Three die in road accidents in Jhapa

Jhapa, October 13 — In separate accidents today in Jhapa, three people have died and two others are injured. Two fatalities occurred in Kamal Rural Municipality, while one was reported in Mechinagar Municipality.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Kumar Chand, a motorcycle with the registration number Province 1-01-017 Pa 744, heading towards Kakarbhitta on the East-West Highway, collided with a bicycle coming from the opposite direction at Mechinagar-7. The cyclist, 50-year-old Bigen Rajbanshi from Mechinagar-7, died in the incident.

The motorcycle rider, 20-year-old Abhishek Limbu from Mechinagar-6, and a 21-year-old passenger, Ramesh Shrestha, were injured in the crash. They are currently receiving treatment at B&C Hospital in Birtamod.

In another incident, two people died when a motorcycle with the registration number Ko 27 Pa 3513 lost control while coming from Kherka towards Damak on the East-West Highway in Kamal rural Municipality-4.

The deceased have been identified as 33-year-old Anil Kumar Limbu from Shivasatakshi-8 and 20-year-old Somraj Limbu from the same area, according to the District Police Office.
