Manthali-Kathmandu transportation disrupted again
Ramechhap, October 5 — Transportation from Manthali of Ramechhap to Kathmandu has been disrupted again.
The transportation disconnected after the last week's flooding and landslides damaged major infrastructures as motorable bridge was partially restored few days back.
Currently, the road subsided on the bank of Tamakoshi River at Jyamire in Melung Rural Municipality, thereby paralyzing vehicular movement.
The motorable bridge connecting Manthali to Khurkot of Sindhuli was a tremendous loss that disconnected Manthali to federal capital, Kathmandu via Sindhuli.
Similarly, the raging Roshi Khola damaged the Nepalthok section of BP Highway, thereby prompting the concerned agencies to manage alternative route to link Manthali to Kathmandu.
However, the alternative route from Manthali to Kathmandu via Charikot of Dolakha also got obstruction in the wake of recent road depression.
The obstruction on transport has badly affected the travel of the people especially from Ramechhap, Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga districts.
The jeeps and passenger buses are stranded after the road disconnection.
However, efforts are on to reconstruct the depressed road section and resume transport, according to District Police Office, Dolakha.
The roadway has witnessed a huge pressure of vehicular movement in the wake of nearing festivals.
