I am committed to protecting women's rights: Minister Thapa
Kathmandu - Minister for Labour, Employment, Women, Children and Social Security, Thama Maya Thapa has said that stern action would be taken against those people involved in committing violence against women.
Minister Thapa, who was at the Nepal Art Council gallery, Babar Mahal to observe the photo exhibition titled 'Prominent Women of Nepal', said so.
She said women have played a significant role in nation building. "The Cultural Museum Nepal has done a commendable job collecting photos of all distinguished women at one place."
The Minister also expressed the commitment to carry out some significant work during her tenure to motivate the women who have made contributions to different sectors of society.
"I will also work to remove the complexities arising towards protection of the women's rights," she asserted. Minister Thapa further stated that the exhibition has given a message that women are capable in every sector. The exhibition started on March 8 and will run until March 14.
