Truck falls into Trishuli river in Chitwan; Driver and helper missing

Chitwan, September 15 — A truck carrying sunflower oil from Bhairahawa to Lalitpur fell into the Trishuli River this morning. The truck, registered as Na. 6 Kha 6283, plunged off the road at Pachhiskilo in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhesraj Rijal of the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The truck, which was loaded with 2,225 cartons of cooking oil, was en route to Kathmandu when the accident occurred. The driver, Yam Bahadur Ghale, and his helper are currently missing, and efforts are underway to locate them. The local police office in Muglin has dispatched a team to the scene to assist with the search.

DSP Rijal noted that the driver has lost contact after turning off his mobile phone. The police have deemed the incident suspicious and have called for a thorough investigation. DSP Rijal emphasized, “It seems necessary to investigate the incident.”
