NC parliamentary party to decide on Deputy Speaker's issue
Kathmandu, September 11 — The Nepali Congress has come to a conclusion that its parliamentary party meeting will take a decision on the questions raised against the House of Representatives (HoR) Deputy Speaker Indira Rana.
A meeting of the top leaders of the party held at party president Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence in Budhanilkantha today reached a conclusion that a necessary decision would be taken on the Deputy Speaker's issue after consultations with the parties in the ruling coalition, said Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Chief Whip, Shyam Kumar Ghimire.
"The informal meeting of the party's top leaders discussed the contemporary political topics. Regarding the topic related to the Deputy Speaker, it has been decided to move ahead calling a meeting of the parliamentary party and also establishing coordination with the parties in the government," he said.
The lawmakers from the ruling parties, speaking in the HoR meeting on Tuesday, suggested to Deputy Speaker Rana to resign from the post for a way out.
The Nepali Congress held the informal discussion today to devise the party's opinion on this issue.
