NRB to withdraw NPR 40 billion from banking system

Kathmandu, September 11 — Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will withdraw NPR 40 billion from the banking system on Wednesday. This move comes as loan demand has decreased, prompting the NRB to remove excess funds from the banks.

The central bank plans to withdraw liquidity for deposit collection over a period of 21 days. The principal and interest payments for this amount will be due on October 2.

Banks and financial institutions of categories A, B, and C are eligible to participate in the deposit collection process.

Organizations interested in joining the process can apply on Wednesday.

NRB will announce the results of the withdrawal process on Thursday morning.
