Electricity supply disrupted in Martadi for eight days

Bajura - Power supply in Bajura's district headquarters-Martadi- has come to a grinding halt for eight days since a flood in Bauli Khola swept away a local micro hydro electricity power project's canal.

The 200 kilo watt of Tribeni micro hydro project ceased generating electricity after the project's canal was swept away.

Every year, monsoon comes to locals of Martadi to add woes by forcing them to live in darkness with the disruption of electricity supply.

"The river here swells following the rainfall and cause damages to the micro hydro power here," said Tribeni Hydro Power Project Officiating Chief Gagan Ayadi.

Regular business in the district headquarters has been disturbed due to the power outage, shared Project Chief Aayadi, adding that efforts were underway to ensure electricity supply by constructing the temporary physical infrastructure.
