China Southern Airlines positive to add Pokhara, Bhairahawa flights

Kathmandu, September 5 — Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, recently met with representatives from China Southern Airlines to discuss the potential introduction of flights to Bhairahawa and Pokhara International Airports.

During their meeting on Thursday, China Southern Airlines expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of operating flights to these destinations. The airline, which currently serves over 40 countries, is already providing regular flights from Guangzhou to Kathmandu.

The Secretariat of Minister Pandey confirmed that China Southern Airlines is positive about launching flights to Pokhara and Bhairahawa.

Minister Pandey welcomed the proposed flights, stating, “I am pleased to welcome China Southern Airlines to the tourist capital of Pokhara and to Bhairahawa, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. These flights will also help enhance bilateral relations between Nepal and China. Regular flights will benefit both countries.”

The Minister added that the aviation sector will play a significant role in strengthening bilateral interests and fostering mutual relations.
