Kaski Police question Lamichhane in cooperative funds misappropriation case

Pokhara, September 3 — Kaski police recently interrogated president of the Rashtriya Swotantra Party and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in Kathmandu after his name emerged in Suryadarshan Cooperative’s funds misappropriation.

During the interrogation, he stated that he is unaware of any cooperative funds being invested in Gorkha Media.

According to sources, Lamichhane claims he is not involved in any financial transactions related to Gorkha Media and asserts that, having resigned, he is not responsible for the funds. He has, however, acknowledged his role as director and managing director of the company.

The police team, led by DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma, visited Kathmandu for the investigation and took an initial statement from Lamichhane on Bhadra 10.

The team also interviewed Bipin Kumar Acharya, joint general secretary of RSP; Dipesh Pun, son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun; and former DIG Chabilal Joshi.
