'Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081' unanimously endorsed
Kathmandu, Aug 27 — The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today has unanimously endorsed a proposal seeking consideration over the 'Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081'.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel presented the proposal at the HoR meeting seeking consideration of the house over the Bill.
Highlighting the rationale behind amendment to the Act, Finance Minister Poudel said much experience has been gained during the practice so far in the field of the stock market. "This bill is necessary to implement the new practices related to the stock market in accordance with our context. As the market is expanding, it should be increased in a stable way. Effective regulatory arrangements have been made to implement new practices regarding the stock market taking into consideration our context," Minister Poudel said.
Among the lawmakers taking part in the deliberations on the bill were Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Basudev Ghimire, Julie Kumari Mahato, Roshan Karki, Swarnim Wagle, Hari Dhakal, Rajendra Kumar KC, Sumana Shrestha, Prem Suwal, Manish Jha, Madhav Sapkota, Narayani Sharma and Nagina Yadav.
During the meeting, Secretary at the House of Representatives Suresh Adhikari informed the house about the message received from the National Assembly regarding the 'Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Third Amendment) Bill, 2081' that originated in the HoR.
Next meeting of the Lower House will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday.
