CPN (Unified Socialist) Central Committee members sworn in

Kathmandu, August 25 — Members of the newly formed Central Committee of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Party have taken their oaths of office and secrecy. Those who were previously absent from the central committee meeting have now been sworn in.

Party Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal administered the oaths during a full meeting of the Central Committee that began on Sunday. The central members took the oath with their fists raised—traditional communist style of oath taking.

The 10th General Convention of the party was held in June.

Following the convention's mandate, the party established a 344-member central committee in July.

The party still needs to elect the Standing Committee, the Politburo, and other officials.
