Nepal to finalize 40 MW electricity export agreement with Bangladesh : PM
Kathmandu, August 22 - Despite recent political developments in Bangladesh, the Nepalese government has announced plans to finalize an agreement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Energy for the export of 40 megawatts of electricity.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated on Thursday that, with Bangladesh's formation of an interim government, Nepal is committed to taking the necessary steps to facilitate this electricity export in accordance with the agreement. He emphasized that energy export to Bangladesh is a top priority for the government.
During a meeting of the House of Representatives, MP NP Saud questioned the government about its diplomatic efforts regarding the electricity export given the current situation in Bangladesh.
