NEA writes to PAC, submits TOD meter data
Kathmandu, August 8: The Nepal Electricity Authority has submitted approximately 50,000 pages of TOD meter data for industries using tagged and trunk lines to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The data, provided on Thursday, was submitted in response to the committee's request for proof of electricity usage by these industries.
In a letter to the Audit Committee, Executive Director Kulman Ghising noted that among the 53 trunk line consumers with outstanding fees, companies such as Butwal Cement, SarbottamCement, Laxmi Steel, and Samrat Cement had paid their electricity tariffs at the dedicated rate for several months. However, due to ongoing issues with tariff payments, these companies have also been charged at the standard rate.
Ghising also requested the PAC's assistance in resolving the longstanding disputes related to the de-ticking and trunk line tariff collection system.
