India has issued an advisory for citizens living in Bangladesh

Dhaka. In Bangladesh, students are protesting widely against the government job reservation system. Recently, some students died during violent protests there. 

In view of the ongoing protests in Bangladesh, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka has issued an advisory for Indians living there. In the advisory, Indians have been advised not to travel and to leave the premises of the building where they live as little as possible.

If an emergency situation arises, it has also been advised to contact the High Commission and the Assistant High Commission. The High Commission has also issued emergency numbers in this regard.

 For the past few days, university students in Bangladesh have been protesting strongly against reservation in government jobs for the children of soldiers who fought in the 1971 liberation war. Those who fought for independence from Pakistan in 1971 are called ‘war heroes’ It has been said one-third of the country's government jobs have been reserved for the children of these war heroes.
