Government to transfer fiscal equalization grants to local levels

Kathmandu: The Cabinet meeting has announced that it will transfer the remaining fiscal equalization grant to local levels for the fiscal year 2023/24.

Government Spokesperson Rekha Sharma disclosed that this decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held on Monday.

She stated that 93 percent of the allocated NRS 87.35 billion will be disbursed to the local levels.

People's representatives from across the country have been advocating for the distribution of fiscal equalization grants.
