Convicts of Tikapur carnage won't be spared: PM

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has made it clear that those found guilty in the Tikapur carnage will be prosecuted according to the law.

Answering the questions asked by the MPs in today's meeting of the House of Representatives, the Prime Minister said that there has been an irreversible loss of human lives and property in Tikapur.

 "The Tikapur incident is tragic, in which irreparable damage has been caused to people's wealth," Prime Minister Prachanda said, "The people found guilty of the incident will be dealt with according to the law." He made it clear that the issue of granting amnesty to the convicts will also be according to the law.

Stating that the government is serious about establishing the identity of economically and socially backward communities including the Tharu and ensuring the rights of the community through economic and social empowerment, Prime Minister Prachanda informed that the government is conducting various programs through periodic plans, annual policy programs and budgets.

 "There is no doubt that all people's representatives will play an important role in the process of discussion and approval in accordance with the prevailing laws, laws, budget formulation guidelines and systems when the government formulates the periodic budget", said the Prime Minister.

"Due to the lesser meetings of the parliament than expected in the proceedings of the parliament, sufficient discussion on policies and programs in the federal parliament could not happen", he added.

The Prime Minister informed that the budget has been prepared with the main premise of proportional, balanced and equitable development, good governance and prosperity of all geographical areas, classes and communities according to the roadmap specified by the constitution. He further stated that the budget has been planned in order to defend the federal republic.
