Amresh Singh lambasts Balen, terms KMC mayor a dictator

Kathmandu: Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh, an independent member of parliament, has expressed disapproval of the crackdown on trash vendors, claiming that the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balen Shah, is turning into a despot in an attempt to garner more popularity.
During Wednesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, Member Singh questioned whether scrap dealers were still permitted to operate and whether the mayor need to follow the court's ruling.
Populism has given rise to dictatorships around the world. Hitler was chosen as well. Singh asked, "But what happened to Germany because of Hitler? Does Balen also try to turn Nepal into Germany and run on a platform of discrimination?"
