63 mountaineers secure Mt. Everest permits for Spring climb season

KATHMANDU: This year's spring season sees 63 mountaineers receiving permits to climb Mt. Everest, the world's tallest peak.

According to the Department of Tourism, these permits were obtained by 13 women and 50 men from five different expedition teams by Monday.

Chun Bahadur Tamang, the Section Officer of the Department, disclosed that a total of 148 individuals, including 42 women, have secured permits to climb various mountains, including Mt. Everest.

The issuance of permits has resulted in the collection of a total of 105.59 million rupees in royalties thus far.

In a press statement, the Department noted that three expedition teams have been granted permits to climb Mt. Amadablam and Mt. Annapurna, following Mt. Everest. Last year, 478 individuals had obtained permits to climb Mt. Everest, as per the Department's records.
