ICC Chairman Greg Barkley arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Greg Barkley, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), arrived in Kathmandu on Monday evening for an important visit.

Barkley, who recently attended the Women’s Premier League final in Delhi, landed at Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon, kicking off his four-day trip.

He was greeted warmly by Paras Khadha, Secretary of the Cricket Association of Nepal, and Treasurer Padam Khadka upon arrival.

During his stay, Barkley is set to meet with key figures including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Barsa Man Pun, and Sports Minister Bhiraj Bhakta Shrestha, as well as officials from the National Sports Council and Cricket Association of Nepal.

Barkley will also inspect cricket facilities at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground and Mulpani International Cricket Stadium to assess Nepal's cricket infrastructure.

As part of his visit, Barkley will enjoy a mountain flight arranged by the Cricket Association of Nepal to experience the beauty of the Kathmandu Valley. Sightseeing trips to iconic landmarks like Swayambhunath, Patan Durbar Square, and Boudhanath Stupa are also planned.

Despite his packed schedule, Barkley's visit will be short, as he plans to return to Delhi on Thursday morning before attending the inaugural ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
