Commission recommends action against CIB officials including Chief Bhajracharya

KATHMANDU: The Gold Smuggling Probe Commission has advised taking action against Chief of Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) AIG Kiran Bhajracharya, SP Sanjay Singh Thapa, DSP Rugam Kuwar, and DSP Durga Dahal.

After investigating the case, the commission found that these CIB officials were involved in lapses during the gold smuggling probe.

They are accused of not conducting the investigation properly and allegedly assisting individuals involved in smuggling 60kg of gold from Hong Kong and using vapes to smuggle gold from Dubai.

The commission handed over a 485-page investigation report to Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who, on Friday, delivered it to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
