New Province Chiefs sworn in

KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel presided over a special ceremony at the Office of the President, where he administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed province Chiefs, in accordance with Article 167 of the Constitution of Nepal.

Sumitra Bhandari assumed the role of Chief of Madhes Province, Dilliraj Bhatt as Chief of Gandaki Province, and Nazir Miya as Chief of Sudurpaschim Province, following their swearing-in before the President.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Speaker Devraj Ghimire, and National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, among others.

These appointments came after President Paudel, acting in accordance with Article 163 (2) of the Constitution and upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, announced the new Province Chiefs on March 11.
