Sharma affirms unified party decision in nominating him as NA Chair candidate

KATHMANDU: Yubraj Sharma, representing the Nepali Congress in the National Assembly (NA), expressed gratitude for his party's unwavering support in endorsing him as their candidate for the NA Chair.

Speaking to the press at the Federal Parliament Building in Naya Baneshwor after officially filing his candidacy, Sharma emphasized his political and academic qualifications as deserving of the position.

Asserting his commitment to upholding the dignity of the post and parliamentary system, Sharma reflected on his extensive political journey, which included imprisonment during the 2024 BS democratic movement and pivotal roles within the Nepal Student's Union and the Nepali Congress.

With over five decades of active engagement in democratic movements, Sharma's elevation from district committee member to president of the Banke district committee in 2045 BS underscores his dedication to the party's cause.

Having served as an Upper House Member for the past two years, Sharma stands prepared to fulfill the responsibilities of the NA Chair with diligence and integrity.
